Our Team

Marshall Street is led by educators, school leaders, talent professionals, and system builders who understand school work from the inside.

Nykeisha Bryer

Education Specialist Residency Mentor
Nykeisha is building for students the education she was not given herself.
The first in her family to finish college, she came into teaching through Teach For America. She now mentors the Education Specialists who serve students with disabilities, and she is direct about how much of that work means undoing systems that were never built for those kids in the first place.
Education: Southern University and A&M College.

Laura Crowe Zado

Director of Development
Laura started at Summit teaching English at Summit Rainier and has since held several of the jobs in between.
After serving as dean, school leader, program manager, she now raises the money that makes the rest of it possible — which she can do credibly because she has done the work she is asking people to fund. She began her career teaching in Peru and Ecuador.
Education: B.A in English, Dartmouth College. M.A. in Education, Stanford University.

Samantha Cruz

Business Operations Manager
Samantha went to a Summit school, then came back to run the operations behind it.
She was the first in her family to finish college and studied how communities change. She is the reason things happen on time, and she holds that a win is not really a win until somebody brings dessert.
Education: B.A. in Sociology, community change concentration, San José State University.

Metztli Garcia

Manager of Recruitment and Admissions
Metztli grew up in Boyle Heights and was the first in her family to finish college, which is roughly the profile of the candidates she now spends her days looking for.
She runs recruitment and admissions for Marshall's teacher preparation programs. She also is a long distance runner, and started her own community garden.
Education: B.A. in Public Affairs, UCLA.

Kirsty Gipson

Intern Mentor
Kirsty trained as a teacher in Scotland and has taught on three continents since.
At Gateway Public Schools in San Francisco, she found that the work she wanted was coaching the teachers, not only teaching the class. She now mentors interns who are earning a credential while already running classrooms of their own.
Education: B.A. in English Studies, Stirling University, Scotland. M.A. in Women’s Studies, The University of York, Teaching Credential, Edinburgh University, Scotland.

Sunli Kim

Single Subject Residency Mentor
Sunli became interested in teaching and how we learn after spending summers teaching English in summer camps in Korea.
She taught high school English in San Jose, where she realized her passion for teacher preparation. She now mentors prospective humanities teachers as a Single Subject Humanities mentor for the residency. Sunli also coaches a neighborhood climbing team on the side to make sure the strategies she recommends to residents still work. Sunli enjoys being outdoors and climbing in her free time.
Education: B.A. with Honors in English Literature, Stanford University. M.A. in Education and teaching credential, Stanford University.

Radhika Kolachina

Induction Mentor
Radhika is a mathematician who chose classrooms.
She has taught and led mathematics in India and the United States as a department chair, a coach, a curriculum specialist, and a director of instruction. She now guides new teachers through California's credentialing benchmarks toward their Clear credential, work she has also done at Downtown College Prep, Amethod Public Schools, and Making Waves Academy. Her passion for educating girls has led her to volunteer her free time to building opportunities for girls in Chajul, Guatemala through an NGO.
Education: M.A. in Educational Leadership, Mills College. M.S. in Mathematics, University of Hyderabad. Clear California Single Subject Mathematics Credential with CLAD authorization.

Pamela Lamcke

Executive Director, Teacher Preparation Programs
As a teacher, a coach, and a principal, Pam knows first-hand the value of great teachers.
She led the development of Summit’s Teacher Preparation Programs from initial design and accreditation to implementation. She believes every student deserves an excellent teacher, and every teacher deserves to feel empowered and sustained.
Education: B.A. UC San Diego. M.A. and teaching credential, Stanford University. M.A. in Educational Leadership and administrative credential, UC Berkeley.

Stephanie Lassalle

Director of Improvement Programs
Stephanie started as a special education teacher, a job that teaches you quickly how many systems were designed without certain students in mind.
She now leads Marshall's improvement work, bringing educators and researchers together around problems schools have not solved on their own, including a multi-year collaboration on outcomes for students with disabilities. She is an avid hiker, native gardener and Latin dancer in her free time.
Education: B.A., University of Redlands.

Sandrine McConney

Multiple Subjects Residency Mentor
Sandrine brings together her expertise in educational neuroscience, elementary education and inclusive practice to help teachers better understand how students learn.
She began her career teaching in Canada, where she specialized in bilingual education and inclusion, before moving to the Bay Area where she served as a special education administrator and school leader. She now mentors new elementary teachers, supporting them in developing the knowledge and skills to create engaging, inclusive classrooms where all students can thrive.
Education: B.Ed University of Ottawa, M.Ed. in Educational Neuroscience, Harvard University.

Aurora Parrish

Senior Director of Strategy and Operations
Aurora works on the unglamorous half of mission: pricing, contracts, CRM, hiring design, the machinery that decides whether good intentions reach anybody.
She leads strategy and operations at Summit Public Schools, sits on the Core Planning Team, and partners with Marshall on revenue and the systems behind it. She describes herself as a connector, which undersells it.
B.A., John Hopkins University. M.A., Education Policy Organization and Leadership Studies, Stanford University.

Greg Ponikvar

Executive Director, Marshall Street
Greg builds things.
He started in education coordinating a K-6 after school program, then became a founding History teacher at Everest Public High School, where he earned his National Board Certification and started the Expeditions Program. He opened Summit Olympus in Tacoma as its founding principal. He now leads Marshall Street. The through line is a belief: nothing in a school outperforms the adults in it, which makes developing them the whole job. Outside work he is on a long run or somewhere outdoors with his kids.
Education: M.A. in Education and teaching credential, Stanford University.

Molly Posner LaMont

Senior Program Director, Teacher Residency
In her core, Molly is the coach and champion new teachers need in their corner so they can thrive in year 1 and stay long after that.
She helped design the Teacher Residency before it existed and now leads with the same values that grounded her as a coach — clear vision, ongoing reflection, thoughtful collaboration, and showing up when it counts.
Education: BA in Child Development and Community Health, Tufts University. MA in Learning and Organizational Change, Northwestern University.

Allison Roberson

Induction Mentor
Allison has stood at every point of the path she now walks new teachers down.
She has been a founding English teacher at Summit Denali, instructional coach, school leader, and administrator of credentialing programs across California. She knows exactly where the process trips people up, and stays laser-focused on helping them navigate it while also guiding their growth in the critical early years of teaching.
Education: B.A. In English and Education, UC Irvine. M.S. in Education and teaching credential, Johns Hopkins University.

Katie Ryan

Executive Director, Marshall Leadership Programs
Katie took over a Denver school rated Red and moved it to Green in a single year.
The state named it a Center for Excellence. She has been Chief of Staff at Campaign Zero, worked at TNTP and Teach For America, and taught in New York and North Carolina. She now leads Marshall's leadership programs, which exist to help adults build schools marked by compassion, candor, and achievement.
Education: M.A. in Secondary Education, New York University and B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from NC State University.

Kelly Smith

Manager of Recruitment
Kelly was a professional dancer before she was a recruiter, and she brings the same energy to finding teachers for California schools.
A Bay Area native, she has spent her career on one thing: helping people who have not yet pictured themselves at the front of a classroom see that they belong there.
Education: B.A. in Organizational Leadership, Chapman University. BFA in Dance, California Institute of the Performing Arts.

Jackie Snyder

Single Subject Residency Mentor
Jackie decided in middle school that she was going to teach math, and then did exactly that.
She went to Sonoma State, then Math II and AP Calculus at Summit Shasta. Somewhere in there she found she liked helping other teachers even more than she liked the classroom, which is how she ended up mentoring teachers at the start of their careers.
Education: Sonoma State University.
