Gary PaytonGary Payton is the Deputy for Advanced Systems in the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Office of the Secretary of Defense, Pentagon, Washington, DC. There, he leads the MDA technology program to enhance ballistic missile defense sensor, weapons, and battle management capabilities. He manages the development of advanced decision and discrimination algorithms, countermeasure mitigation strategies, special access programs, quick-response studies, and new projects that identify growth opportunities for the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). Mr. Payton leads MDA's advanced concepts process to gather and evaluate new technical concepts for BMD, and leads the technical evaluation of Small Business Innovative Research proposals.
