A Day Without Space: The Potential Impact of Sequestration on the Space Industrial Base

July 26, 2012

The United States depends on space in countless ways. Through the ongoing series, A Day Without Space, the Marshall Institute and the Space Enterprise Council educate policy makers and the public about the contributions of space to economic prosperity and national security.

With sequestration cuts looming, the forum on July 26 considered the impact on the space industrial base and the implications for the short- and long-term health of U.S. space programs and priorities.

These issues were considered by:

  • Greg Keeley, Vice President, Intel & Homeland Policy at TechAmerica
  • Steven Bucci, Senior Research Fellow, Defense and Homeland Security at the Heritage Foundation
  • Joel Arends, Chairman of Veterans for a Strong America/Iraq Veteran
