The Commission on the Future of the US Aerospace Industry: A Look Back and a Look Forward

April 25, 2012

The Techamerica Space Enterprise Council and the George C. Marshall Institute presented a forum on The Commission on the Future of the US Aerospace Industry: A Look Back and a Look Forward.

A decade ago, a Presidential Commission on the Future of the United States Aerospace Industry produced a report outlining wide ranging recommendations in the areas of Vision, Air Transportation, Space, National Security, Government, Global Markets, Business, Workforce, and Research.  Now, ten years later, the TechAmerica Space Enterprise Council and the George Marshall Institute brought together industry experts to discuss the areas of the report that focused on Space, National Security, and Global Markets.  The experts discussed the recommendations from those areas, what has transpired in the ten years since the report was released, and (if it makes sense and is still needed) how we should still move forward with those recommendations.

Featured Speakers Included:

  • Leslee Gilbert, former Staff Director, House Science Committee [SPACE]
  • Jeff Bialos, former Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Industrial Affairs [NATIONAL SECURITY]
  • Robert Brumley, Managing Director, Pegasus Global Holdings [GLOBAL MARKETS]
